THE LAST BOOK REPORT OF THE YEARRRRRRRR!!!!

1. You will pick a chapter book to read approved by

Ms. Kushik and read it independently for at least 20 minutes daily.

 

2. You will fill out a plot diagram when you have finished the book and turn it in when you have finished reading the book.

 

3. You will choose 1 of the 4 options below to tell me about your book.

Book Project Options:

1.  Book Jacket: You will create a book jacket based on the steps provided.

 

2. Diaroma: You will re-create a scene from your book using a shoebox and /or other craft materials.

 

3. Create a 2-life size version of one of your characters and host a conversation between the two.

 

4. Create a “website” page for one of your characters using a poster board providing links and character description and correspondences between other characters in the book.

 

All projects are due on: June 5^th !

From death and disaster to the fountain of youth! The 8th graders are about to venture into Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit. The book has some powerful themes surrounding life decisions, such as making the most of what we have and being grateful for it!

The 8^th grade reading presents

“The  TODAY Show”

Here’s the scoop:

-Each of you will be interviewed as the person you are reading about in your auto/biography. Questions will reflect major events in the person’s life. Therefore, you will need to complete your book answer the interview questions based on the facts.

-Since it is also a news’ show, we will need some current news to report on as well…therefore we will need the following reports..Weather, Sports, Economics, Entertainment, Government/Politics, and Health.

-Information for these reports will come from the newspaper and edited by Ms. Kushik.

-When all books are completed, interviewed questions turned in, news’ reports submitted; we will tape our version of the “Today Show”

- We will take turns playing the roles of interviewer, reporter and cameraperson.

- Costumes are optional, but would make the experience a lot more fun.

The 7^th grade reading presents

 

Time Magazine’s Person of the Year

Anime/photo presentation

 

Here’s the scoop:

-You will create a photo journal of the person whom your are reading about in your auto/biography. By recreating at least 4 major events in the characters life using clay and respective backgrounds, you take the pictures and create a magazine article.

- You will need to complete your book answer the interview questions to adequately write an informative article for the magazine. Your article must be at least 3 paragraphs.

-Each scene will need a caption describing the important event depicted.

- Supplies will be provided in class, however if you have additional props to add to your scenes, then please bring them in.

6^th Grade Reading Presents

“ A ROCKIN RADIO SHOW”

Here’s the scoop:

-Each of you will be interviewed as the person you are reading about in your auto/biography. Questions will reflect major events in the person’s life. Therefore, you will need to complete your book answer the interview questions based on the facts.

-Since it is also a radio show, we will need some current news to report on as well…therefore we will need the following reports..Weather, Sports and Entertainment!

-Information for these reports will come from the newspaper or reliable internet source and edited by Ms. Kushik

-When all books are completed, interviewed questions turned in,  news’ reports submitted, we will record our version of  a radio show.

- We will take turns playing the roles of interviewer, reporter and interviewee.

- We will make it a little more interesting by playing clips of some music that you think your person would like to listen to as well as create commercials that sponsor your interview!
