About Me
Hello World! It’s me, Ms. Kushik! I love teaching reading, language arts and study skills as well as coaching boys’ soccer at Hall-Dale Middle School!Â
A little about me? Ok.. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (and yes, I am a die-hard Steelers Fan). However, I did most of my growing up in Virginia. My first teaching position was at a residential high school outside of Boston, in Beverly, Massachusettes called Landmark. There I taught physical education and language arts as well as coached, soccer, lacrosse and basketball. Then I moved out west to beautiful Colorado where I taught at a great middle school in Denver called Rachel B. Noel. There I was a Learning Specialist where I taught students who were English language learners. Then, I eventually found myself here in Hallowell/ Farmingdale teaching an amazing group of students!
My favorite pastimes are hanging out with my family and close friends, traveling, hiking, camping, snowboarding, art, oenology, cooking and playing games, like charades!
Favorite foods; Swedish Fish, blueberries and nachos! Favorite book(s): The Other Boleyn Girl, Wicked, Harry Potter Series and Oh The Places You’ll Go!
Favorite sayings: “Live everyday like your hair is on fire” and of course, “BE KIND or leave!”
